The Locations extension works with the Volunteer Sign Up Sheets plugin to bring location awareness to your volunteer coordination. Whether your PTA runs events at multiple school buildings, your church serves across different community sites, or your nonprofit coordinates volunteers at various venues, this extension makes it simple for everyone to know where to go.

Key Features

• Clickable Location Popups: Volunteers click a location name on any sheet or task to see the full address in a clean popup — no page reloads, no clutter.
• One-Tap Map Directions: An optional “Map It” link opens the address in Google Maps on desktop, or the native map app on mobile devices, so volunteers can get directions instantly.
• Preset Address Formats: Choose from United States, United Kingdom, or Generic/International address formats to auto-generate the right fields for your region. Or start from scratch with a blank format and build your own.
• Fully Customizable Fields: Add, remove, and reorder address fields to fit your needs. Change field types, labels, and the display format at any time.
• Sheet and Task Assignments: Assign a default location to an entire sign-up sheet, then override it on individual tasks when events span multiple venues.
• Email Template Tags: Include {location_name} and {location_address} in your confirmation and reminder emails so volunteers always have the details they need.
• Calendar Integration: Locations appear on the Calendar Display extension with the same clickable popup, giving volunteers location info right from the calendar view.
• Customizable Labels: Rename “Location” to “Venue”, “Site”, or anything else. Customize the “Map It” link text too.

How It Works

4. Volunteers click for details — The location name appears as a link. One click shows the address and directions.

More Than Just Addresses

Because every field is customizable, this extension isn’t limited to physical addresses. Change the column label, create your own fields, and use it to attach any kind of supplemental information to your sheets and tasks — room assignments, coordinator contact details, special instructions, or anything else your volunteers need to know.
