Under the topic “details/item text” I questioned an column size increased by an end user would be decreased by a plug-in update. I found this to occur by my own test. I increased the ‘item’ field in table pta_sus_signups to varchar(500), but after the plugin update to ver 2.0.4 it was decreased to varchar(300). I will stick with the size in the plugin distribution. I would not want to have data truncated during a plugin update.

Sorry, yes, I updated that field to the 300 size after you original post, and did not see the follow up post you had where you had changed it to 500 before I released the update.

Sorry to “bump” in like this, but is this the same as the “Task/Item” field in “Edit Tasks”? I also would like the column size to increase/make it bigger..

Hi Ulf,
No, this was about increasing the size of the database field that stores the “details” that the volunteer would enter on the sign up form when signing up for something where you had the details needed field checked. Some people are using that field to collect much more info than initially intended, and the initial character size limit for that field in the database was not large enough to save all the info some people were entering.

I’m still interested in an increase in the size of this field because we sometimes as people to respond to a couple questions.

I’m pushing out a quick logic fix/tweak release, and am bumping up the size of that db field to VARCHAR 500, so hopefully that works for you now.
