I am unchecking the “Show Clear LInks for Signups”, thus disabling the ability to have users un-sign-up without calling someone
On the page when it shows me the events I’m signed up for…it still displays the “Click on Clear to remove yourself” text
If Show clear links is disabled, I’d expect this text to not display

If you are logged in as admin, or as a sign-up sheet manager, then you will always see the clear links. Makes it easy for admin to clear any sign-ups from front end or back end.
Try it when logged in as a regular user, and the clear links should not be there.

If you are logged out, you will NEVER see that text or the clear links, since those only show to logged in WordPress users (otherwise, how does my plugin know who is viewing the page to show them their sign ups and clear links).
If you really want to see how it work, create a test volunteer account with regular “subscriber” user role (or whatever you use for the volunteers on your site if you force them to create accounts and login to sign up). Then sign up for something as that user. Then those clear links may or may not be there, depending on your settings.
