Open Spots for Recurring Events

We have several recurring events, some weekly and some monthly. On the list of “current volunteer sign-up sheets” there is a column that says “open spots”. I would like a way to make it say only the number of spots open for the upcoming event, rather than all of the recurring events.

For example, we have a weekly event called friday folders. It’s listing 231 open spots–but i only need 7 each week.
