August 27, 2018 at 5:04 PM in reply to: Option to disable reminder emails to be sent to chair #22240Stephen SherrardKeymaster
Adding an option in version 2.4.2 to disable the chair CC and the global CC for reminders. Should be released later tonight.
Stephen SherrardKeymasterAn {email} template tag has been added to version 2.4.2, which is being released this evening.
Stephen SherrardKeymasterHi Maria,
Have you read through the documentation on the plugins?
https://stephensherrardplugins.com/docs/I just did a test on my dev system with newest versions of everything, including the new WordPress release, and everything still works correctly.
Please note that you have to set up groups first, and then go back and edit the sheets and assign them to the groups, or to “none” if you don’t want a sheet to show up in any group, or “all” if you want a sheet to show up in each group. When using the group shortcode, make sure you spell the group name exactly the same as you did when you defined it in the groups settings.
Do you have a current/active license and the latest versions of the plugins?
Stephen SherrardKeymasterThere is no separate template for the email that goes to the chair. It was originally just a CC of the confirmation email to let the chair know that someone had signed up. They get a copy of the exact message the person signing up gets.
There are already template tags for first name and last name and phone that will show the first and/or last name, as well as phone #, of the person who signed up. There is no template tag for the volunteer’s email, but the email is sent to the volunteer, so there was originally no need (they know their own email) and when set up as a simple CC email, the chair could also see the email it was sent to just by looking at the “to” email address.
There are also filter hooks already in place for the search and replace arrays to allow other plugins, or simple code snippets, to add to, or modify, the find/replace template/signup data used in the emails.

Stephen SherrardKeymasterYou’re not missing anything, as that’s not a current feature. If it’s not in the documentation, then it’s not a feature:
https://stephensherrardplugins.com/docs/pta-volunteer-sign-up-sheets-documentation/If a user has made a mistake, and you have it set for them to be logged in to a user account, then they can clear their existing signup and simply sign up for the same thing again with the correct info.

Stephen SherrardKeymasterYou can already do this. Please read the documentation:
https://stephensherrardplugins.com/docs/pta-volunteer-sign-up-sheets-documentation/
The option to disable chair emails is on the email settings page.
Stephen SherrardKeymasterSecond paragraph of the documentation here:
https://stephensherrardplugins.com/docs/woocommerce-user-role-minimums/If you use both Order Quantity and Order Amount minimums, you can choose if the operator for those values is “AND” or “OR”. “AND” means both order minimum conditions must be met to check out, while “OR” means they only need to meet one condition. Version 2.1 also adds optional maximum values for the order amount and order quantity minimums sets. If a maximum value is set (amount or quantity), that is treated as a hard limit and the customer can not checkout if they exceed the maximum value for order amount or order quantity.
Stephen SherrardKeymasterNo, there is currently not a way to simply do this, so you have posted in the correct spot as this would count as a feature request.
“Simple Enough” compared to what? If you’re a programmer, feel free to code this and send it to me, and I’ll add it, otherwise it goes in here with all the other feature requests.
If you’re a non-programmer, then you simply don’t understand that what seems “simple enough” is anything but simple. Difficult? No, but not simple, as it requires quite a bit of code to go through every task in the task table, and compare against every signup in the signup table, and then figure out which tasks haven’t been completely filled yet, and then find the corresponding sheet from the sheet table in order to get the contacts for that sheet, and then have some kind of email template (which, of course, people will want to edit, so you have to add all those admin settings functions as well), and then put together each email one at a time and send them.
You can also read the following to see why I’m reluctant to continue to add new features (or just simply browse through the many many feature requests to see that there is simply no way to make everyone happy, as many people have their own ideas of what they think should be a feature):
